Condolences

Condolence From: GSA Caitlyn
Condolence: I met Mao when he was a "Govie" at PGSAS in the Summer of 2008. Never have I met a stronger, more unique personality. Mao did what he did, because that's what Mao wanted to do. My favorite memory of Mao comes from our early morning long distance runs. The Govies were allowed to go for longer runs out of boundaries as long as they were accompanied by a GSA. Once a week, we would head out around 5am and return to campus by 7:30am- just in time to shower and head off to the 8am class. After one such occasion, Mao had stated that his quads were sore. My memory fades me here but one of the GSAs responded that he should stretch them. Mid-lecture, Mao stands up and begins to stretch his quads. Dr. Barbato stopped puzzled, and asked if he had a question. To this Mao replied, "No, just stretching." Thank you Mao for teaching us that life is more entertaining if we take the road less traveled. I think I speak for all the staff and Govies from 2008 when I say "My Heart Will Go On" will never, ever sound the same. My condolences to Mao's family. May we all dance to the beat of our own drum. RIP Mao
