梅府梁新金夫人, Sun Kum Leong Moy, 100, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord with her family by her side on Wednesday March 3, 2021.
She was born on June 23, 1920 to Keat Yew Leong and Yoke Shau Moy in Taishan, Guangdong, China. She married Sau Yan Moy in 1938, and together they lived on two continents and raised a family of 8 children: Tom, Grace, Susan, Ted, Dorothy, James, Robert, and Daniel. The entire family immigrated to the United States from Hong Kong in 1963 and settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Sun Kum loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, and would often peek out the front door anticipating their arrival and lingered longingly at the door after wishing safe travels. Her home was the center of large family gatherings. She enjoyed playing Mahjong, loved sweets, and most of all she was a strong woman. She was truly loved by her family and friends, and she will be missed dearly.
Sun Kum Moy was preceded by her husband, Sau Yan Moy. She is survived by her 8 children and their spouses, 19 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitations will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Choi Funeral Home, 247 N 12th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment is at Valley Forge Memorial Garden.
