Meng Sing Huynh, 86, died peacefully at his home in Franklinville, NJ on the evening of
January 19, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Meng was born in Svay Rieng, Cambodia to Wei Fang and Shi Yi Eap and married Huong Chan
in 1968. After years of adversity in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand he was able to emigrate
with Huong and his three surviving children to the United States in 1981 where he settled in
Philadelphia establishing a happy and prosperous life for himself and for his family. In 2004 the
family relocated to Franklinville, NJ. His presence will be missed by both family and friends
and the constant stream of visitors during the last few months of his life attest to the great respect
so many people had for him.

Meng was known by his family for being strong-willed, protective of his siblings, and a talented
chef. While always hard working, creative, and busy with projects around the house; in recent
years he devoted much of his time to relaxing while admiring his yard and fruit trees. In late
2016, Meng's beloved grandson Lawrence was born and became the focus of his loving attention
bringing him tremendous joy in the last years of his life.

Meng is survived by his wife Huong, daughter Tracey (Jeffrey); sons Keang (Elsa) and Matthew;
grandson Lawrence; siblings My Ngoc (Kim Nam), An Tan (Cuc), and My Kia (Huot); many
nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his
daughter Ru Yi, his brothers Hy Tan and Ngi Tan, and his sister My Kieu.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 26th at Choi Funeral Home in
Philadelphia, PA. Funeral services, led by monks from Ru Lai Si, will be at Choi Funeral Home
beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 27th followed by procession and interment at Bethel
Cemetery in Pennsauken, NJ.
