Obituary for 陳府伍佩琼夫人 Pui King Chan

It is with much sadness to announce the untimely death of Pui King Chan at the age of 83. She
passed away while surrounded by her loved ones in her hometown of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania on April 14, 2023. Mrs. Chan is survived by her son John Wyman (Winnie), her
daughter, Eva (Ron), and her grandchildren Ashley and Alexander Chan. She is also survived
by her younger brother, Zhang H. Wu (Hui X. Yu), her niece, Amanda Wu (Mike Qi), and her
nephews Chuck Wu (Tiffany Deng), Wilson Wu (Ping), and Rong Zhi Guo (Pei Di Xiong).

Pui King Chan arrived in the United States in 1968, with her husband Kam Chau Chan, taking
residency in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. In 1982, she made Philadelphia Chinatown her
permanent residence where she lived and worked. For almost 20 years, she was employed at
Lee How Fook Chinese Restaurant while caring for her family. She was a proud mother who
watched her children graduate from grade school, high school, and college. In the early 1980’s,
she helped her mother, Lin Hoi Ng, and younger brother immigrate from China to the United
States. From there, her family grew larger as more family members arrived in Chinatown.
