Obituary for 吳府文錦兒夫人 Gine Van Ngo
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gine Van Ngo (age 71) on Friday, January 13, at Abington Lansdale Hospital after an arduous battle with lung cancer.
Gine emigrated from Saigon, Vietnam in 1984 and lived most of her life in Lafayette, LA. There, she earned an Associate’s degree from Louisiana Technical College and served as a bookkeeper with Ageless Healthcare, Inc. After relocating to Chalfont, PA to live with her daughter, Gine enjoyed eating out with her family and entertaining her grandson, as well as assembling 1000-piece puzzles and listening to Chinese opera.
Gine is survived by her two daughters: Josephine Ngo McKelvy (and her husband Mark) of Raleigh, NC and Justine Ngo (and her husband George Lee) of Chalfont, PA; her grandchildren: Cordelia and Adrian; her mother; her siblings: Philip Van, Connie Van, Van Dieu Vinh, Van Cam Mai, Van Cam Phung, Van Cam Nien; and numerous dear cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Jack Lam Ngo; her father, Van Lac; and her brother, Van Tinh.
Gine’s family will hold a celebration of her life at Choi Funeral Home in Philadelphia on Friday, January 20, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to offset medical expenses (via Venmo: @JustineNgo or https://account.venmo.com/u/justinengo).
